The following is the epic battle that transpired between one Mr. Ralph Fritz and I last night.
CRYSonline: I am legend is such an epic movie
Fritzr: replace epic with lame and I agree
C: I Am Legend = Epic. Don't deny the movie's theatrical value.
F: Sweeping shots of desolate new york? Good. Sweetass dog actor? Sweet. CG bad guys, heavy foreshadowing, and a lame ending? Bad bad and bad.
C: CG is fantastic, you couldn't pick up on the foreshadowing unless you'd seen the entire movie and the ending..Smith needed to die. Perfect.
F: Butterflies daddy! Butterfly in the field with him and his dog... Butterfly solution? Surprise! Just cause you can CG does not mean you
C: You don't even notice the butterflies unless u know the ending. The CG is so good. Don't short stick the movie.
F: 2 out of 5 stars. A huge budget does not a great movie make.
C: There are plenty of movies that have cost so much more that are complete monkey sauce, but this movie. Greatness.
F: Oh cpalting you will be the death of the film industry in america
C: You seriously have no faith in this movie? There's nothing wrong with enjoying social commentary on the decline of society as we know it.
F: Pfft the movie has no message its a vehicle for will smith to make more monies
C: He's a great actor! Anyone who can drive a movie on the solo wins. He deserves everything he made from this movie. Did you miss the message?
F: God makes man. Man makes virus. God distorts virus. Virus makes man. Man kills man. Smith becomes omega man. Tech bad. Butterflies good.
C: Virus mutates. Man tries to kill mutation. Smith and select few are immune. Basic human desire for interaction, hope. No man stands alone
F: Pfft. We need to watch a boy and his dog so you can understand the essence of awesome post-apocayptic cinema.
C: A movie does not need to be obscure and unknown to have value. I will watch that boy dog movie
F: I'm not being an indie film kid but i think you are sucking the dick of mainstream cinema
C: There are plenty of bad mainstreams, this is just not one of them. You think you're better cause you watch indies. You're that glam rock kid
F: I lawl at you
C: Win for Crystal.
F: Meh I'm just well aware of convincing someone to not like mediocre films
C: You can't convince me that good movies are bad.
F: You eat poo
C: Was that your zing? Fail.
F: Is that your face? Fail.
C: Haha. Nice try at being witty.
F: Your mom is witty.
C: My mom? Wittier than you, definitely.
F: Yeah...found that out last night!
C: Darcy's not my mom.
F: Lol very nice
C: You're welcome. This has been your daily lesson of pawnage. I hope you took notes.
F: Pwnage u noob!
C: Is that the bell I hear? Class is dismissed.
F: Nah you're like school in the summer time... No class
C: School all year round for you.
I won, obviously.

111208 - I don't have a left big toe nail
for the second time in my life, I don't have a whole big toe nail on my left foot. It feels weird to walk, and I'm afraid to take off the band aid because I see the purple. I don't want to know what it really looks like.
tonight is the FACES hosted veg out in gallagher. I made the fried rice and I had some last night and it was good. hopefully it's as good today as it was this morning haha.

111208 - Jesus was a good looking man
[this particular blog post is subject to change] As part of an ongoing effort to prove that Jesus was hot. I haven't done any research .. this is purely me vomiting my thoughts onto my blog.
Most of the time, I see the world the way I want to see it. When the world as I see it turns out to be a world completely different, I wonder why. Jesus' physical appearance, his human form, was never something I thought about until the other day. I conclude that he was a good looking being. Very good looking. These, collectively, are reasons for why Jesus HAD to be good looking fellow:
1. He said crazy things. Jesus had some insane ideas about reforming the Jewish religion. Here he was, standing in his robe, on a mound: "I'm Jesus and everything you knew about yourself, everything you've been doing, everything your family has known for centuries, is, well, wrong. Hey, here's an idea! Let's try something new and different." People took their traditions to heart, let alone their religious traditions. If they're going to change something, there better be a damn good reason for change. Reform was difficult. They knew what they knew and they weren't going to complicate things just to appease one man. If he were good looking, people would be a little more sympathetic to his cause. There was probably the general feeling that: "He's crazy, but God didn't make him too ugly for us to look at while he preached this so said crazy." If Jesus was ugly and said crazy things, he'd just be another ugly guy, preaching crazy things.
2. He hung out with ugly people. Jesus was always talking with the untouchables, the down-trodden, the sad and lowly. If he was not good looking, Jesus would just be another ugly person in the sea of ugly people. Visually, it would be ineffective for him to stand out to the crowds.
3. He was curing the sickly. Jesus was going around doing miracles here and there, curing people, the usual. If you were the mother of a dying child, and you heard of this crazy ugly person going around touching little children would you let him come touch your child? If Jesus had a nice smile and looked inviting and not out of the ordinary, that would better help his cause of curing the sick. If he were good looking, smelled nice and had the friendliest smile ever, you would invite him into your home with less reservation. If Jesus were ugly, the public may have thought: "If God sent this man to cure the sickly, why is this man deformed, ugly, uninviting? He can't cure himself?" It is less believable if someone who does not seem healthy himself, can bring those sickly to health. If Jesus were good looking, the public may have thought: "God sent us someone who says he can cure the sick and he himself looks very clean and healthy! Let us welcome this good looking man into our home to cure our sick children."
4. He was touching our food. I guess this argument has more to do with Jesus' cleanliness than anything and probably is more relevant to present time. They probably did not care back then who touched their food, but today, I know I would not want someone who doesn't wash their hands at all to make my food and serve it to me.
This is not meant to come across as shallow. I just simply believe that for Jesus to spread God's word as swiftly and effectively as he did, he would have had to be good looking. People needed to be drawn to him, rich and poor, ugly and pretty people alike.

110608 - road to X
here is my 500 character bio that is on RoadtoXavier for the prospective students:
I read somewhere that the average person laughs 13 times a day. I am so above average, it is almost not funny. I like food, a lot. I do not like wet socks or sharing my toothbrush. I will, however, share my hairbrush & calculator (for complex calculus problems only). I text pretty fast & I talk even faster but I definitely do NOT run fast. I love singing & dancing, both separately & simultaneously. I also like taking pictures & tagging people on facebook. 500 characters?! You're killing me here.
I mean, I tried to be funny. Perhaps I failed, perhaps not.
Either way, I have a new theory: Jesus was a good looking man. More deets on this lates (read as: more details on this later).

110508 - Harder than I thought
last night was interesting. Obama won the 2008 Presidential election. I want to rally behind the man, but I don't know. Easier blogged, than done.
I did say a little prayer for him last night. He will do what he believes is best. Not that the president really has that much of say in anything really.
Ah, fuck it. I said in my last blog that I didn't care who won anymore. Evidently, I actually do care. I think they were brought on by the people I surrounded myself with .. everyone was just so angry and I realized I was angry too. Angry and disappointed.
I also got to call my best friend, Thao, last night. We talked about the usual haha. Which always seems the be the same even when we haven't talked to each other in months.
Give it a listen: I Have Waited - Kiersten Holine

110408 - Election Day, it's a big one
I cannot believe that the day to finally vote is here. I'm so sick of all this political talk and blah blah that I'm bursting at the seams; really just want to know who the next president is going to be. I don't even care at this point anymore.
I wore my "I think, therefore I vote Republican" shirt earlier today. Our political system divides people. Some of my friends and I were discussing earlier how the bipartisan system just tears people apart; friends turn into enemies blah blah. Politics gets so personal sometimes.
But I am ready for thanksgiving. Bring on the turkey and apple cider!

110308 - caved, bought it, read it
BLOG CONTAINS MOVIE SPOILERS.
so Halloween went spook-tacularly! haha, play on words, intended. everyone in the house dressed up as the cast of Peter Pan! it was fabulous, glitter in the hair, face paint, and all!
Saturday night, Molly Laws and I went to Target (where I purchased Twilight that book I was talking about earlier) and Walmart (where I purchased four movies: Hard Candy, Wicker Park, Friday the 13th: the Final Chapter, and Friday the 13th: VII The new Blood ..). Then we went to Hollywood Video and rented 30 Days of Night, Pathology and The Happening.
You should probably have guessed that Saturday night was scary movie marathon night.
We started with the Happening: actors were horrible .. or were they good? Knowing M. Night Shaymalan's work, he probably told them to be awkward characters that no one can really take seriously. Such a shame for the movie, I guess. I didn't care if they died or not. An interesting concept though; the theory that plants will rise and attack us with the toxins they release into the air. I mean, if that were the case, we'd all be .. in the butt.
Pathology was. 3 stars out of 5. The good guy, was not really a good guy. Horrible boyfriend even though he avenged his fiance's death .. blah blah blah, what a whore, Milo Ventimiglia! Plot was the only thing supporting this movie - human life, ahh, so easily (and creatively) taken away. Smart and sexy.
30 Days of Night. molly and I still don't understand how Jill and Kevin could fall asleep during this. I almost pooped in my pants. Almost.
Then it was 3:00 AM and we were so scared we had to watch Baby Mama. Funny funny funny.
Then we gained an hour courtesy of daylight savings time.
Sunday I read Twilight, and finished it. A book with no literary value. It's a young adult romance .. what did I expect!
oh, and I saw Obama.
Taylor Swift: You're Not Sorry; have a listen.
Koinonia tonight :)

102908 - Election day draws nearererer
I hate wearing jeans. I want to put on a pair of shorts and walk in flip-flops. The weather is not very nice this fall. What happened to my windbreaker weather?
It went straight from 85 degrees, nice and warm to freeze-my-toes-off cold.
Yesterday, Ralph and I watched 6 hrs worth of "Greek" on ABC Family. Don't judge me, but I'm kind of addicted. Cappie and Casey need to be together.
Another show that I wish I watched more often is "Gossip Girl." I was so into it when it first came out but now I can't seem to find the time to devote to television. My knowledge of Pop culture is diminishing by the episode.
In other news, I'm going to go and read the Great Society speech by Lyndon Johnson.
if anyone happens to have a copy of Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, let me know.

102708 - It's already October?
so last night some housemates and I watched Peter Pan - while we made our halloween costumes. We are going out as the cast of the Disney classic .. just in case you didn't catch the correlation.
Anyhoo, I'm Princess Tiger Lily. I shall post pictures and they shall be glorious.
So I really can't wait for Thanksgiving so I can see my family. I miss them dearly.
nothing else new has really happened. I'm content, that is all.
oh and I finished Booth Tarkington's "The Magnificent Ambersons." I was not that impressed, but then again, I am hard to impress I guess when it comes to books and movies. Me and the housemates decided that we wanted some cultural enrichment so we decided on reading the top 100 novels according to the Associated Press and watch the top 100 movies according to the American Film Institute.
oh the ideas we come up with.
I'm dancing three dances in Diwali.

There are plenty of songs I like to listen to
Save Me From Myself (Originally performed by Christina Aguilera) - covered by Alyssa Bernal
Free Fallin' (Originally performed by Tom Petty) - covered by John Mayer
Love Story - Taylor Swift
I can't wait for Taylor Swift's new CD. I just might buy it.
I really want to see the movie Nick and Norah's infinite playlist .. or I think that's what it's called. It has Michael Cera, I'm already in love.
Fall Break is finally here. I really needed it; spending it in Cincinnati. I'm so behind on my reading for classes, not to mention sleep. I never get to sleep anymore .. except, I feel like I sleep all the time .. I just never get good sleep though. That is a problem.
My phone is the dumbest piece of equipment ever though. While I'm in the middle of texting someone or calling someone, it just randomly decides to freeze and the only way that I can get it to unfreeze and start working again is if I take the battery out and restart the entire system.
I wish I just had a regular phone that was NOT a pocket PC. those things .. waste.
Junior year is going well. I am enjoying my classes. I love my professors. And I'm still involved in all the clubs that I am passionate about. It's a good feeling doing things you like to do.
I really hope my parents come this weekend. They said they would but I know that they're busy and sometimes plans change. I just would really like to see my family .. it's been too long. I think 2 months. Why does 2 months not sound so long ... idk.

leagueofpunditry.blogspot.com
ALSO I'm on the radio (Kiss 107.1) sounding like a total tool, but whatev .. I'll take whatever air time I can get.
I hope the best for my friends. I always wish them well. I want them to succeed in everything they do, and they deserve ever blessing that God bestows upon them. I love them and I would do anything for them.
Oh another thing, I'm really into the Office now. I never used to watch that show .. in fact, in the past, if I had passed it on tv, I would have been angry that it was even on. The show is genius, I was stupid, I admit defeat.
in other news, I've also printed out AFI's list of greatest movies .. I'm gonna watch them all. I also printed out Time Magazine's list of top 100 best novels. I will read them all. A little cultural enrichment never hurt nobody.
this is the longest blog I've ever blogged .. in a while I guess.

082808 - Another Semester at the X
I haven't blogged in forever. that's alright, I forgive myself.
These last few weeks of summer have been highly uneventful. I had exploding stomach for the longest time and now I am quite positive my overall health will never be as it once was when I could eat just about anything - and I did.
Other than school I haven't been up to anything. Off to study for my first Calculus quiz. I hope that all my math knowledge comes pouring out of my mind and onto my homework because I haven't taken a math class in nearly 2 and a half years. oh geez.
In other news, Manresa was fun!
And that is all. I will blog later, for sure.

Kevin, Patty, Jill, Ashley Taite and I went to Mary's last night for karaoke. It was fun for two seconds then I was over it.
John's coming on the fifth. I'm uber excited! I haven't seen him in so long.

071008 - excited for this weekend
so tomorrow, Kevin, Jill and I are heading up to Lake Erie! We are apparently going kayaking along with boating and sun-catching. Oh we will be tan and it shall be a wonderful wonderful weekend.
I'm way excited.
I just also, gave a tour to like the hottest group of guys. and they were actually fun to joke around with. Sometimes I get those hot guys that are really quiet, but these guys were actually funny and easy going. That's what I need in life right now - chill people.
Everyone's so damn uptight. haha, they just need to chill out and just go with the flow. this is life and they're only making it harder on their own faces.
jill and I are going swimsuit shopping in a quick second though! I love shopping with a purpose. I'm just uber excited about everything.
Stress won't ruin my happiness.
but Ryan's Pub, I forever swear off of it now. This is like the second time in a row that I've been disappointed by both their service and their food quality. It was absolutely sad.

070708 - Fourth of July weekend recap
So I was sick all week. Couldn't stop throwing up. It was lovely.
This past Friday was fourth of July weekend and Patrick had a party. It had its ups and downs. I mean it was fun, and then we lost everyone. It was .. hilarious to say the least.
I don't know what I want to do. I have a decision to make and I can grow a pair and get it done, or .. well, just not do anything about it. I would rather really have someone else fix my problems for me.

062708 - Back to X
so I've been back to Xavier for a week now. It seems like I've been here longer than that. I don't know, I can't sit still. Everything just seems really boring to me.
Work has consumed my life.
I finally got to see Sex and the City, the movie. I don't know if it was worth the $9.00 I paid to see it in theaters, but there are scenes, particularly the one with the outdoor shower and that really hot neighbor man... definitely worth it. mmm.
I want some sweet plans for this weekend, but nothing's presented anything.

061808 - officially driving home
so driving home on friday.
that's right.
driving home. haha. yes, sir.
that's really it.
other than that, I've got nothing.
oh, I added two applications on Facebook: Books iRead, and Flixster Movies.
definitely a time consumer .. exactly what I need right now.
road trip on the 27th.
I get to choose between three lovely places 1) Shelby, OH, 2) Elizabethtown, KY and 3) Asheville, NC.
Each destination is associated with a friend(s)
1) Kevin
2) Kristin, Jenny, Michelle
3) Jill, John
I've already kind of chosen a destination.
that's right.

So I'm really into "Freckles." Song was originally done by Natasha Bedingfield, but I am obsessed with Jordan Pruitt's cover. In other news, Kathy Griffin is hilarious and definitely not a D-list celebrity. I haven't heard of a person who hasn't heard of Kathy Griffin.
Also, I really hope my parents let me bring my car back to Cincinnati. oh please oh please.

060908 - Housewarming
I've been to Elizabethtown.
the family and I had a housewarming party on Saturday.
We cooked family dinner before the event and the food was good, the company was better.
I love the family.
Lots of random people in my house = good time, given certain circumstances.
also, Jill went to bed at 11:00.
haha, yeah, she's THAT girl.
so I leave tomorrow for my brother's high school graduation. I was supposed to leave yesterday, but obviously that did not happen. Instead, Kevin, Jill, Kristin and I went to Phillips Swim Club, where Kristin works, to just hang out by the pool. The sun was out, it was perfect.
We wanted to take pictures by the pool, so we asked a random guy to take the picture for us. He kept saying that he couldn't see us. The screen is 3.0 inches x 2.5 inches .. it's a big ass screen for a digital camera. We ended up with an awesome picture of his wedding ring.
old man: "I hope it took it."
us: "oh yeah! it looks good!"
so work now.

060208 - Put your lunch hours on your time card
Uncle Ron: "...I'm bringing my a game." What does that mean?
Me: You mean A-game?
Uncle Ron: oh! ... wait, what is A-game?
Me: It means he's gonna come and kick your ass.
So Kevin and I went up to Columbus this past weekend to visit his uncle and be a part of some golf tournament. We walked to the field for like a second, and then we both got bored and walked back.
Work again. The other day, I moved most of my stuff from Kristin's garage to my house on Cleneay. I'm excited.

052708 - answer phone, see boy leave.
Friday night, Saturday till 4 - First PREP of the summer. It went well. For some reason, I'm not quite sure, PREP was way boring. I had a horrible time. Didn't even make any new friends.
Saturday night - Taste of Cincinnati. Saw Rissi Palmer perform and she was amazing. This is reminding myself to google her later.
Sunday - Went to go get Graeters with Steve Newsome. Then we went to the park for an hour. After the park, I went back to bed till 5.
Sunday, 5:00 PM - Call from family. Watch a boy walk out of my room. Talk to mom for a little bit and realize that someone's moved their shit into my room.
Sunday night - Hangout with Kristin
Monday - Memorial Day, went to Phillips Swim Club, then Birthday Party. did a little bit of creeping and then went home. Met new roommate. surprise.
I saw Waitress with Keri Russell. It's solid. So is The Jane Austen Book Club. Also solid.

052208 - Is that poop? No, rice.
spent the night at Kristin's last night and will be spending the night at Kristin's again. haha, it's always fun.
so this morning, went to work and didn't have to give a tour. that was def. good.
After work, my housemates and I went to the house to post-it. We told Darold which furniture pieces we wanted to keep in the house and he told us what he was going to do to repair the damages that the guys had done to the house. He will be repainting and recarpeting and lots of other wonderful things for us. Just a note, the guys left all of their toiletries. The bathroom looks like people still live in the house .. did they not need their toothbrushes? I don't understand...
Along with their bathroom shit and lots of other stuff, they also left us a Monopoly game set and a monkey. We decided to take the monkey with us as we were leaving.
After post-it-ing we headed to Ault Park where the friends surprised us with a birthday celebration. Kevin and I had theh birthday song sung to us. On the birthday cake, Ashley drew Britain's flag for Kevin's side of the cake and she drew rice for my side. Kevin thought the rice was poop. Oh Kevin. It was awkward but very funny.
Another awkward, funny thing we did was take pictures with monkey. He is awesome, definitely a new addition to our family.
It got cold, but we weren't ready to go home, so we decided we wanted to laser tag. After some driving, we finally found Laser Web .. which was closed. But only on Wednesdays .. which was today. Haha.
Kevin and Ashley left. Kristin, Jenny, Jill and I went to Jungle Jims for 15 minutes. Then we went to drop Jill back off at her car, which we left at Ault Park. There was a cop car parked right behind it when we arrived (at this point it was 10:30ish). The rent a cop proceeded to take our identification cards and issue us a "warning." From now on, if we are caught at any park in Cincinnati past 10, we will be ticketed. Just wonderful. Haha, way to go, supercop.
We went back to school to get my phone charger which was with Kevin, but by then he was already in bed so I wasn't able to get my phone charger .. :(. Kristin, Jenny and I decided we wanted to make Mac n Cheese, eat Salsa con Queso and get Steak and Shake milkshakes.
Eventful, yes.

051808 - If you were born everyday, everyday would be your birthday
I am officially not a teenager. I am twenty.
gross.
So I woke up and, like every year since the year I was born, the house was plastered in signs that gave away what special day it was: my birthday. Open the fridge, Happy Birthday! Turn on the computer, Happy Birthday! Watch Television, Happy Birthday! Take a shit, You're 20!
I spent the entire day with the family. It was highly entertaining. My sister asked me to drive her to the library, so I compliantly did as she asked. Then we decided just to go for some random driving, as always, it was an adventure. We didn't get lost this time. I cannot lie, almost. Almost. I surprisingly recognized a street. Never happens, but miracles happen I suppose on one's birthday.
We also did the traditional birthday dinner. The birthday song at the end with the free cake is arguably the best part, unless it's your birthday.
Parents and I are driving back to Cincinnati tomorrow .. er, later today. I'm excited. I'm not so sure they are.
And their birthday present to me: oh, surprise, you don't get your car for at least another week, or until we can get the car inspected, the oil changed and the breaks checked because they are making awkward squeaking noises. My car is a year old, I don't understand how such noises present themselves.
I think I'm more excited about moving into the house on the 31. Woo!
So when I turned 16 I made a list of all the things I wanted to do before I turned 20. Well, that didn't work out so well so I'm going to make a list of things to do before I turn 21. The following is a list of so said things to do before 21, in no particular order.
01. Become close friends with a celebrity
02. Be an extra in a major motion picture
03. Drive the entirety of Route 66
04. Learn how to whistle
05. Kick the shit out of a shitty printer
06. Play Expert on Guitar Hero
07. Make out with someone in the rain and/or on a rooftop
08. Break a world record, doesn't matter which one
09. Be in the studio audience of some kind of talk show
10. Learn another language
11. Stop procrastinating
12. Learn how to play the harmonica
13. Chug a gallon of milk, successfully
14. Start running again
15. Be able to throw a backflip again
16. Become more environmentally aware
17. Become more aware of myself
18. Learn how to read palms
19. Learn how to read people's minds
20. Stop procrastinating
I saw Narnia: Prince Caspian last night. It was much better than the first. Completely satisfying. I start work on Monday. Fuck it.
gross.

051508 - Somewhere on the capital beltway
If you want the summary, try the end.
Mom: Where are you guys driving to?
Cheryl & Crystal: Just around the neighborhood
M: Drive carefully. Don't go too far, Crystal.
C&C: Yeah mom, don't worry, we'll be safe!
(Pull out of the drive, and out of the neighborhood.)
Crystal: Where do you want to go?
Cheryl Anne: We gotta put gas in.
C: Well, shit. You got money?
CA: No.
C: where is there an ATM?
CA: Pull into this BB&T.
C: Is there an ATM at this bank?
CA: No, there's an ATM in the 7-11. See?
C: um, ok.
(Go into shady 7-11 behind the BB&T. Use the ATM and get the hell out of there.)
C: Is this the way to Kingstowne?
CA: Um, no.
C: Well, shit.
(driving down the same road a minute later)
C: Yeah it is.
CA: This isn't Kingstowne.
C: Oh. Well, whatever, there's a gas station.
(proceed to put $20 of gas into the tank, both hands required.)
C: So, what now?
CA: I don't know. Let's go to Springfield.
C: Alright.
(We walk around Springfield for about 2 hours.)
C: So, what now?
CA: I don't know. Let's go to Kingstowne.
C: Alright. Can we pick up some guys?
CA: Do you see what I'm wearing?
(I look her up and down. Red and White stripped headband, black sweater, black running shorts, plaid kneed high socks and Keds.)
C: You look fine.
CA: I look like I don't know what I'm supposed to be, emo or pippy longstocking - neither of which I would want to be if I were picking up guys. Plus, you're wearing all pink. We look challenged.
C: Alright. Hey wanna go to TJ Max?
CA: I've never been.
C: Let's go.
(I proceed to park at the farthest spot from the store.)
CA: I hate going out with you. You make me walk.
(We get into the store and I think I see an old friend, Niki Dove)
CA: Where are the prom dresses, Crystal? You said there would be dresses in here.
C: (kind of a whisper) I don't know, but I think I know that girl over there!?
CA: These dresses are stupid. These aren't prom dresses. You lied!
C: I really think I know that girl!
CA: Well go up to her!
C: What, and look crazy? "Hey I think I know you, do you remember me?"
CA: that or we can continue to hide behind these ugly dresses.
(We walk out of the store and all the while I'm trying to find the girl I think I know but we don't see her.)
(Some random obscure person yells out Crystal from their car. Both my sister and I look around and we have no idea who the heck that was in the car, but I'm freaked out, and so is she. We start to walk around and decide that we're done with Kingstowne.)
C: Well this place is dumb.
CA: Where are we going now?
(We get on the highway and we're driving for a little bit just jamming to the song on the radio. Look up at the sign and read: Capital Beltway North, Capital Beltway South.)
C: Well, shit.
CA: OMG, NORTH NORTH! SOUTH IS THE GHETTO!!!
C: It's the capital beltway, Cheryl.
CA: I know, I just felt like saying the word ghetto.
(We proceed to go on the exit for North. We get lost for half an hour. It was fabulous. We made the Franconia/Springfield exit four times.)
C: OMG, everything says SPRINGFIELD, but I don't recognize any of this!
CA: OMG OMG we're in the ghetto!
C: I doubt the ghetto has a TrimSpa and Weight Watchers you fool!
(Little more driving)
C: It says Franconia/Springfield! Why doesn't this exit look familiar!
CA: You're crazy! You're crazy! Oh wait, I know where we are. Just go straight.
C: Oh I know where we are. Damn, we're good. Let's go to Giant.
CA: Fine.
(Giant for 2 minutes, literally.)
C: Well, that blew.
CA: What now?
C: McDonalds, fool.
(We finally get back home around 10ish and mother throws a fit.)
So this morning, I received a facebook message from Niki Dove
hey, were you at TJ MAX on kingstowne blvd yesterday? i just moved to dc & i swear i saw you!
Why yes, Niki. Yes, I was there.
SUMMARY BEGINS HERE:
Driving "around the neighborhood," can translate into a plethora of things. For me and my sister, this means: Use the sketch ATM in a hidden 7-11, fill up the gas tank, go to Springfield, go to Kingstowne, see someone you think you know, get lost in DC for a little over half an hour, find your way back home, go to Giant and end up at McDonald's smashing on a double cheeseburger and fries.
Lessons I've learned:
1) No matter where I go, Love in this Club on the radio makes me happy.
2) When you think you see someone you know, you probably know them.
3) Giant Supermarket at night, without a purpose, is stupid.
4) The dollar menu at McDonalds is not worth it, especially when you only have like .. $2.
5) My sister doesn't like country, I think I'll use that to my advantage.

051308 - Batteries and their shit lives
Today I had a very good cry. I was very relieved after it all happened, believe me. It wasn't even something I could plan. I didn't wake up thinking: "hey, ho. Gonna cry today." Just went for a drive to run some errands then BAM, tears. BAM, sadness. BAM, you are gonna cry.
Again, it was good. I think I needed it more than anything. I thought I was going to cry right after Johnny left. Or maybe even that night when he wasn't around to watch the most random ass movies with us. Or maybe even the next meal when he wasn't around to make some asshole comment about something one of us said. Single tear, that was it. I thought it was done, but I guess today's waterfall extravaganza proved me wrong.
Big girls do cry. They cry about a lot of things. Life problems, mostly.
The fam is great. I miss my siblings. They're hilarious. I make "that's what she said," jokes with them.
And speaking of family .. excuse me but can someone tell me why there is a rice shortage? Isn't that .. impossible? I didn't know a rice shortage was even fathomable. Who decided that mess?
So just talking to some friends on aim, we realized that we are so bored without each other. The nights, well, they're lonely. Here is a beginning list of things to do at night that I have determined, on my own:
1. Make a list of the most random objects you could possibly think of and proceed with an intimate scavenger hunt around your house for these so said random objects.
2. Write the script for a movie based off of the events that occurred in your life that day. Compose the score that will be used in this film. Lastly, grab a camera to film and star in your first motion picture. Everyone's gotta start somewhere.
3. Raid the refrigerator. Grab some key ingredients, set up shop and host a cooking show. You can even theme the show, i.e. halloween treats, bat mitzvah hor doeuvres, easter desserts, etc.
4. Write a letter back to your secret admirer. Make sure it's in cursive. Feel free to substitute so said secret admirer for your middle school physical education teacher, or your cell phone service provider.
5. Plop in a movie you have never seen in your life. Put the audio on mute and insert your own script. If you want to make it difficult, change the rating of the movie, whatever it is, to either G or NC-17; the extremes. Record the script either on video or on paper. Watch the movie but this time with audio and see how close you got to the original script.
6. Learn the lyrics to all the Backstreet Boy songs, even the obscure ones. Feel free to substitute Backstreet Boys for Nsync or Dreamstreet.
7. Drive to your local 7-11. Go inside, stand in one aisle until you're escorted out.
8. Grab a stack of blank index cards, whatever size of your choosing, and write inspiring, uplifting and cheesy notes to yourself, i.e. "you can do it!," "keep going!," "it's not yours!," etc.
9. Make another list of things to do at night when you're bored.
10. Two words, strip solitaire.
Haha, so there's this kid at my school, Reid Faylor. He is, without a doubt, the funniest kid I know. He is very reminiscent of Demetri Martin, who if you didn't know, I'm in love with. Reid is actually competing in a national comedic competition in Aspen later this summer. He is competing against a student from UVA, student from UNC and student from Duke. Xavier is basically going to win. Reid is obviously going to win because he is definitely the funniest of all of the candidates. Hands down, genius.
Take a Bow - Rihanna. New song that I am currently addicted to. Listen to it, you know you want to.

050308 - Three piece chicken strips
John is making fun of me so I will [be] updating this later.
***
So yesterday, John and I decided we wanted to go and get some KFC. this is how it went
(pulled into parking lot)
KFC worker: You guys don't want to go through the drive-thru?
John and I: No no, we're ok
K: Are you sure?
J&I: Yeah, we're good.
K: okay, well, can you just not get in line yet because I want to take a break. I don't want to get in trouble.
(J&I decide to use the restrooms to stall time before getting in line to order. We order 2, three-piece chicken strips meals, worker hands us one cup.)
John: don't I get a cup?
Me: Did you get a combo meal?
John: Yeah?
Me: Well, get your cup then.
(worker leaves the register and walks away. I go to fill my cup, discover there are no lids and go to ask for a lid.)
John: Can I get a cup too?
Worker: you didn't get a cup? Oh sorry
Me: do you guys have lids?
Worker: Yeah, here.
(he hands me two lids.)
Me: do you guys have straws?
Worker: we are out of straws.
(worker proceeds to screw up two more orders; he overcharges one woman and one guy comes back asking for his twelve missing chicken wings. We get our food, John realizes that we need silverware. I realize we need dipping sauces.)
John: do ya'll have silverware packets?
W: yeah yeah
(worker goes to get the silverware packets, walks back to the counter and instead of handing the packets to John, places them in another customer's bag with two buckets of chicken. woman walks out with our silverware packets and worker leaves the register again. John and I just kind of stand there as the worker proceeds to grab a piece of chicken and walk to take another break.)
W: shh, don't tell anyone I took a piece of chicken.
J&I to each other: well, shit. what are we going to do now?
(worker comes back)
J: hey, can we get silverware?
W: yeah yeah!
(Worker grabs silverware and starts to walk back to us)
Me: do you guys have dipping sauces? honey mustard, ranch?
W: yeah yeah!
(Worker turns around with our silverware and goes to get dipping sauces. He puts the silverware in a random box, grabs random dipping sauces and brings them to me.)
John: can we get silverware?
W: oh you made me forget! yeah!
(we both are laughing at how ridiculous this service has been. we sit down to eat. thirty minutes later the worker approaches)
W: well you guys cheated me! you said you were taking the order out! I would have charged your more if I knew you were eating in here.
Me: well, it's john's fault.
(we get up to leave and as we're walking out the door...)
W: I better not catch ya'll stealing anything else!
That is the story of my life.

042608 - Summer is only a second away
literally. a second.
where did my semester go?
I'm ready for summer. definitely.
oh, I saw 21. Jim Sturgess. Yum.
and also, the weather has been nothing but fabulous. the sun feels wonderful. It's long overdue.
I've been working like a dog.

032008 - I'm sick
I keep trying to deny that I'm sick when it is obvious that I am. I can't breathe through my nose properly and I just sound gross. What did Steve call me last night? Oh, that's right, typhoid Crystal. That just made me feel super wonderful.
So I've spent the entirety of my spring break hanging out with friends and making new friends. On St. Patty's Day, we started at Fountain Square. Fun, yes, but not as fun as later that night when Jenn, Katie and I went to U.C. to hang out with some friends there. Those kids are a riot. I love them and I've only hung out with them once.
Mornings are spent at work, giving random tours and busy work. I don't mind it at all. I've been spending a lot of time with Kristin too. We went to the mall the day before last, but not before I walked across campus in the POURING RAIN. It came down so hard that Hamilton was under flood warning. Oh, Cincinnati. Anyway, when we got to the mall, she bought a bear from build-a-bear and then made me carry the box around. She's super awesome. Side note - we went into that new store that just opened up, Metrocity? maybe...can't remember. But it had the cutest tops and I definitely want to go back there and get this one shirt ... That night we went to her house and we just hung out, ordered pizza and watched television. She doesn't like sausage and that's my favorite kind. Our friendship is doomed. Jenny, another new friend I've made, came over that night too and she's hilarious. She likes sausage on her pizza.
Last night, I hung out with Kristin, Jenny and another new friend Amanda. Very fun bunch. I got a VIP tour of the "West Side." Apparently, there's a big rivalry between the west side and the east side. I don't get it. But I've got some seriously funny pictures of the most random stuff from their stomping grounds. We went to Front Porch, the cutest little coffee house ever! I'm definitely going back there to just sit and people watch.
We ended up calling Steve, going to his apartment and watching the ending to Rent, which I still don't get. Whatever, I was sick last night and he wasn't helping.
Today, in the office, we're having a game viewing party. Pizza with sausage, involved.
I really want to drive up to Dayton on Easter Sunday and see the Hearthrobs. Chicka chicka yeah. I could never pass up Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby and John Lloyd Cruz. Come on! Now getting tickets and getting into the Victoria Theatre is a whole new issue. Blah, if there's a will, there is a way.
New song: Love in this Club by Usher. It's about time he came out with something new. I've been waiting for a while and his stuff is always solid.
Tomorrow...I don't know what my plans are, but they're gonna be sweet plans.
Zumbiel implosion on Sat. morning. Thank the God.

031608 - Birthday birthday
I'm so glad that I'm not, not friends with anyone anymore. It was completely draining. Having to work around someone is really tiring. Don't try it, just resolve that shit and move on, really.
I'm really into this one song: All Time Low - Dear Maria. Everytime I listen to the song, I gain a different perspective, a different perception of what the meaning of the song really is.
In other news, celebrated with Steve last night. Happy 21 Steven! We went out to .. well .. haha .. yeah.
Friday night, Whitney's friend, Andy, came down from North Carolina. We ended up at Metropolis. Wanted to go to IHOP after, but, well ... haha, got lost and decided to come back to Xavier. We truly are, easily defeated.
"You're friend, she make me hot." Nice.
I'm sitting alone in Gallagher right now. There is literally no one here. I love it. haha .. alone time in Gallagher? I'm so for it.
Till later.

031208 - If I died...
I woke up this morning with the biggest headache in the entire world. My throat was sour, it hurt to talk. I stood up, and my body was in pain. I don't know how I got that way, but I was definitely sick.
So spring break plans. down the drain. thanks Steven Newsome. You suck.
I guess I'm just destined to sell my soul to the admission office.
In other news, if I died, which I felt was going to happen, I wouldn't want to die angry. I want to die happy.
The governor of New York was involved in a prostitution scandal. hahaha, that sucks.
That's Amore with Domenico is ridiculous. ridiculous. There's a certain girl, I think her name may be Kim .. well, if the devil were to take a human form, it would be .. her.

031108 - Working at work
working on my Jesus and Power project. My group is presenting on: "Nuremberg or National Amnesia? A Third Way." This project, in Lauren's words, is dumb. Thank you.
but for Spring Break. We, meaning Jill, Whitney, Steven and I are going to Myrtle Beach still. We are driving all the way there and back. We'll be staying on the beach somewhere. Forecast says rain, but I say fuck it, let's go. We're going. Need to get some good reading material for the beach, stock up on some necessities.
Speaking of weather, we did get 12 inches of snow a couple of days ago. One snow day out of it. I'll take it, what-ev.
Club X was this past weekend. It went as smoothly as it could have gone. No one died. No one needed medical attention. I guess that's all we could ask for right?
Senate elections are today and tomorrow. Two people are going to be very salty about not getting a position. I only voted for seven people, even though you can choose up to sixteen. I only believe in seven, so I only voted for seven. No use in wasting some random votes and throwing them.
In other news, Hilary took Ohio, Texas. What more could the republican party ask for? haha .. she needs to take it all. Seriously.
I better be getting a free t-shirt tonight. Alumni center dinner and talk business.

030308 - Three for three
I got Group Leader for Manresa.
Spring Break is coming together.
Summer plans are also growing.
Vantage Point was a horrible movie.
This was the greatest day, weather wise, in a long time.
Some friendships are just not worth keeping anymore.
Other relationships are proving more lasting than others.
Life is good. God has definitely favored me.

022308 - Last night was a fun night
A couple friends and I celebrated another friend's birthday last night. happy birthday lover! I haven't had that much fun in a long time. All of us just seemed to be living it up, letting loose and kicking back - as everything should be.
I'm actually taking a work break right now from this scholarship competition. The kids are really stressed out and nervous when they have absolutely no reason to feel this pressure.
Tonight should be fun. I have some plans that I have not yet confirmed, but it shall include plenty of fun and laughs. It shall be good. I will it to be and I'm sure God does too.
Black ice all over the campus walk ways. It's horrible. I fell down last night twice. I almost fell this morning on the greenspace, not once nor twice nor three times .. try four. Good stuff.

so very disappointed in the system.
I'm ready to stick it to the man.
I want to know. yes or no.
just tell me jesus.
in other news, lots of snow. lots and lots of snow.
tomorrow is scholarship weekend. will be working. will be happy.

020108 - Breakfast gets harder to do with every day
as much as I love getting up extra early for that first meal, it gets increasingly harder and harder everyday to roll out of bed and join the morning crowd. I still want to be able to, but today was the second day in a row that I was unable to wake up and go get some breakfast.
I'm going to Myrtle Beach for spring break. Right now, it's just Jill and I that are definitely going on this adventure, but we need more people to go with us. Neither of us though it would be this hard to find people to go to a beach with us for Spring Break but we were obviously misguided - I mean, come on a beach for spring break? who ever thought the impossible.
We made this official last night - found plane tickets and started to make reservations. $300 roundtrip flight. $100 for five nights at a Days Inn right across from the beach - walking distance from everything else - this spring break is going to be so sweet, I can hardly contain my excitement.
So my computer gave out again .. well, it turns on, but that's about it. It just stays at the opening screen and doesn't actually open up any programs. It's really quite a dilemma. I'm contemplating just throwing the damn piece of metal and plastic out of my window and buying a new one. Perhaps beat it with a stick like that scene from Office Space. That would be so much fun, but alas, I don't have the balls to do that to my baby vaio. Asthma and all, I still love it.
School is going swimmingly though. This semester has been really productive for me. I like my classes, the teachers ... it's really working out.
I'll be in D.C. next weekend for CPAC with College Republicans. It should be a lot of fun republican bonding. haha, I'm a lot more excited about hanging out with people rather than the conference itself. But that should be expected. This is why I'm a science major essentially. I can't cut it with the politically active kids, but I do enjoy it.
Last night, Jill and I watched Casanova with Heath Ledger, who is, dead. What a sad ending to my childhood. He will forever be known as the guy in 10 things I hate about you .. you know, the one who sang that song on the bleachers .. swoon. This blog is dedicated to you, Mr. Heath Ledger.
Speaking of entertainment, the writer's guild nonsense still hasn't cleared up. I don't understand why the networks just don't pay them already .. it would just solve everyone's problem and god knows that they have the money to do so. I was at first opposed to their strike, thinking that they should just hire english majors from right out of highschool to write scripts blah blah blah .. but who am I kidding, those writers deserve it. I miss my grey's.
Too bad we didn't have a snow day today though. That would have been the icing on the cake that is the best week of my life.

012408 - awesome.
so last tuesday was the worst night of my life.
got in trouble .. twice. Haha, it was bad dude.
Last night I went to my first official yoga class. It was very good. I enjoyed myself for the first time in a long time.
Tonight is the Dayton v Xavier game. We're winning at the moment. I just got back from a college info session though. I was on a student panel, talking to students , obviously, about college in general.
I'm going on a retreat tomorrow night. It's the emerging leaders retreat and it's going to be super fun.
I have to get started on my physics homework.
good night.

011608 - Gotta watch what I say from now on.
so so so...
Had physics this morning. I miss Yerian, but I love Frohlich. Amazing teacher, it will be a good semester.
After physics was philosophy - I'm taking Szymkowiak again, and he is fabulous. I absolutely adore that man and I know the class is going to be interesting. The discussion was so good I almost peed my pants. Almost. The class is called Morals and Markets and the course is going to focus on how morals effect the evolution of markets in the economy. Speaking of evolution, I have Evolution in an hour. It's a bio elective, don't judge. I'm really not excited to have Anyonge for two classes this semester, but I'm not worried about it at all .. I'm just going to go for it and see what happens.
So far I'm enjoying my classes. The one class I'm a little worried about right now though is my Jesus and Power class. It's kind of .. well, it's not what I expected it to be, but I guess that's just the way it goes haha. I'll just let it ride, see where it takes me. Maybe it'll be a surprise and turn out to be the best class I've ever taken.
So for some spring break options, we know we want to do a beach. Somewhere hot. We want to go down to Florida but we don't want a "Girls Gone Wild" kind of spring break. haha .. so?? Maybe we'll do myrtle beach. I don't know .. but I bettter be going somewhere warm where I can lay naked under the sun. haha .. well, maybe not naked, but close to.
My phone is super gay. haha .. I mean, it keeps saying I need to free up some storage but that makes no sense when I cleared the entire storage memory. It's spazzing on me already and I've only had it for .. 2-3 weeks? what the...
Last night, Ashley, Jill, John, Kevin and I met and picked numbers out of a hat to decide which rooms we are getting. I will be living in the attic next year, come visit.

011408 - First day of classes
today was walking. lots of it. that is all; walking.
so I flew in from D.C. Saturday night. It's fun to see everyone back at school. I didn't realize how much I missed people. And I definitely do miss a good handful of people. And a few handful of people that I did not miss at all. But those shall people remain nameless.
But I think I miss my family more anything.
Right before I flew back, my sibs and I saw Juno. It's good. go and see it.
Natalie and I are sitting in Gallagher right now, because both of our computers decided to give out right before the semester. Haha .. we're awesomely listening to Justin Timberlake and this new awesome song by Jon Bon Jovi and LeAnn Rimes - Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore. I love that song.
So no more cruise :( SADLY. Must come up with new plans for spring break.
I'm ready to take on the new year. It's going to be a good year.

010708 - A day of firsts
I went to IKEA for the first time today. It's a Sweden-inspired home furnishings store? I don't know, it was vast and given my newfound obsession with interior design, I was surprised to find myself bored with the different sofa cover slips. And their mattresses .. no quality. I wouldn't sleep on a mattress from that store if someone paid me to. I got kinks in my back just imagining having to sleep on one of their mattresses.
Insert cringe here.
One thing I was impressed with however, were the prices of some of the furniture pieces. There was this gorgeous wooden desk - simple, functional - $80. HELLO, steal. I just hope when it comes time to buy a desk it will still be there .. in all its $80 glory.
And also, they had some really nice stem glasses .. set of 6, $1.99. HELLO, steal.
Oh, before IKEA, I went to the mall for haircut. This is how it went:
///
Me: I want to take off about an inch off the longest length. Just re-layer the entire thing.
Devil Woman: Okay Okay, I understand.
[40 seconds pass]
Me: Um, are you sure that it's still the original length?
Devil Woman: It's still long, trust me. Anyway, you shouldn't be worrying about your hair length. You spend less time on hair, more time with studies.
Me: I just don't want it to be short.
Devil Woman: It's not short
///
My hair doesn't even cover my boobs anymore. Obviously, I'm still harboring some anger issues towards the devil woman. We made a stop by Lenscrafters ... contact fitting appointment for tomorrow .. I'm looking to get either subscription sunglasses, or .. well, contact lenses in the color of purple or orange or something absurd so that I can scare the little children on easter.
That's the master plan and I'm sticking to it.
And one more thing, Little Miss Sunshine, which I just watched on HBO a couple hours ago .. genius. It was my first time experiencing the movie .. truly a work that is so deep and honest at its core. Directors Dayton and Faris have made me a believer - there is still good work out there.
I don't know why it took me so long to see it. I guess I was skeptical of all the good reviews - I mean, every time I read a good review, I go to see the movie, only to leave feeling empty and $8.00-something poorer.
///
///

010608 - Designated driver
Last night I saw National Treasure: Book of Secrets. If you're into Disney-level-intense, that's-impossible type of action, the movie is legitimately amazing. Nicholas Cage breaks into Buckingham Palace, survives a high-energy guns-shooting-at-me car chase, kidnaps the president, and yet again (well, for the second time) finds another treasure chest that makes him worth more money than God. I don't know who that actress is who plays his girlfriend, but she sucks. Horrible acting, her jokes just fell flat, and as a character, I didn't give a shit whether she died or not or broke up with Nicholas Cage or married a monkey. On the other hand, the actor who plays Riley, Nicholas Cage's ever so cute and adorable side-kick, exceeds his expectations as comedic relief.
I still would very much like to partake in the cinematic adventure that is known as Juno. Oddly enough, I also really want to see Cloverfield - supposedly the American equivalent of Godzilla. I don't know, the advertising for the movie is phenomenal and that deserves something. And I cannot wait to see 27 Dresses. Katherine Heigl = delicious. I can't get enough of her .. except for on Grey's Anatomy (for now at least). And and and, I promise this is the last movie I'll mention in this blog, One Missed Call, anyone? Ohhh yeah.
I'm a bigger movie person than I would like to be.
Today, I drove to this wonderful little gem that my parents found a couple of months ago .. The Filipino Restaurant - complete with your balikbayan boxes and filipino essentials store. Oh man .. priceless. It was a filipino store, attached to a filipino restaurant. Never in Ohio would this place ever survive.
I'm trying out this new diet where I don't eat anything.

010408 - 2008 better be great.
this is kind of monumental occasion for me, let us all take a moment to take it all in.
alrighty, so the new year has come with its share of surprises. Some good, some not so good, but that's just how it always goes right.
I spent the better part of my day watching reruns of the last season of The Hills, so I am now caught up on all the drama going on in Lauren Conrad's life .. wonderful.
I think I might go see a movie tonight .. I'm thinking either Juno or that new thriller One Last Call. I'll end up seeing P.S. I Love You .. something gay like that.
Whatever.
I saw I Am Legend though - Will Smith? You cannot go wrong. It was good, if you haven't yet, go out and see it in the theatre while you still can .. I'm telling you, you will not get the same experience if you do otherwise.
Last night I read a couple chapters of "The Grapes of Wrath." It's not as good as I thought it would be .. I mean, granted, I have only read a handful of chapters so far .. and it is only the beginning, but a classic should read like a classic. Some books - well, you can just tell that they're classic. TGoW just seems to have that "oh, I'm a history book so that makes me amazing," type of staying power. As a work of fiction .. I'm over it. I'll read a couple more chapters tonight .. maybe.
I thought I wanted to paint my room yellow, but I think I'm gonna go with a green .. pastel. I like sunflowers .. bringing sunflowers into a yellow room just seems a little overdone for me .. that's the HGTV in me kicking in again. sorry.
In other news, my laptop broke down. Stupid piece of crap. All my documents and file are .. well .. gone. HAHA, how ironic since the day before it broke down, I was at BestBuy with the brothers, in the external hard-drive aisle and OUTLOUD said, "maybe I should buy an external hard-drive to back up all my files and stuff ..." and then decided against it. Then later, walked by the memory sticks and said outloud: "I should really back up my picture files and music files."
too bad that was before my computer decided to die. My fault, I know. If those files were of any importance to me, I would have backed them up the second I had them downloaded to my asthmatic computer.
What I mean to say is that if I don't update as much as I can, it's because my Vaio decided to take a permanent vacation. Thank you and good night.
