I went to IKEA for the first time today. It's a Sweden-inspired home furnishings store? I don't know, it was vast and given my newfound obsession with interior design, I was surprised to find myself bored with the different sofa cover slips. And their mattresses .. no quality. I wouldn't sleep on a mattress from that store if someone paid me to. I got kinks in my back just imagining having to sleep on one of their mattresses.
Insert cringe here.
One thing I was impressed with however, were the prices of some of the furniture pieces. There was this gorgeous wooden desk - simple, functional - $80. HELLO, steal. I just hope when it comes time to buy a desk it will still be there .. in all its $80 glory.
And also, they had some really nice stem glasses .. set of 6, $1.99. HELLO, steal.
Oh, before IKEA, I went to the mall for haircut. This is how it went:
///
Me: I want to take off about an inch off the longest length. Just re-layer the entire thing.
Devil Woman: Okay Okay, I understand.
[40 seconds pass]
Me: Um, are you sure that it's still the original length?
Devil Woman: It's still long, trust me. Anyway, you shouldn't be worrying about your hair length. You spend less time on hair, more time with studies.
Me: I just don't want it to be short.
Devil Woman: It's not short
///
My hair doesn't even cover my boobs anymore. Obviously, I'm still harboring some anger issues towards the devil woman. We made a stop by Lenscrafters ... contact fitting appointment for tomorrow .. I'm looking to get either subscription sunglasses, or .. well, contact lenses in the color of purple or orange or something absurd so that I can scare the little children on easter.
That's the master plan and I'm sticking to it.
And one more thing, Little Miss Sunshine, which I just watched on HBO a couple hours ago .. genius. It was my first time experiencing the movie .. truly a work that is so deep and honest at its core. Directors Dayton and Faris have made me a believer - there is still good work out there.
I don't know why it took me so long to see it. I guess I was skeptical of all the good reviews - I mean, every time I read a good review, I go to see the movie, only to leave feeling empty and $8.00-something poorer.
